Grupo sueco de música pop, saltó a la fama tras triunfar en el Festival de la Canción de Eurovisión 1974, con la canción Waterloo.
Activo entre los años 1972 y 1982.
El cuarteto estaba formado por dos parejas sentimentales: Benny Andersson con Anni-Frid Lyngstad (mejor conocida como Frida) y Björn Ulvaeus con Agnetha Fältskog.
El nombre "ABBA" es un acrónimo formado por las primeras letras del nombre de cada miembro (Agnetha, Björn, Benny, Anni-Frid).
En su siguiente disco, 'Arrival', Abba muestra su propio estilo de música, que se vio continuado en 'Abba', en el que se incluyen algunos de sus temas de mayor éxito, como 'Mamma mia', 'I do, I do, I do' y 'S.O.S.'.
En 1978, Bjorn y Agnetha anunciaron su ruptura sentimental, en 1980 la otra pareja Anni-Frid y Benny también se divorció, lo que repercutió en la desaparicion como grupo. Abba se disolvió en 1981, no sin antes publicar 'Super trouper', uno de sus mejores trabajos, donde demuestran toda su madurez profesional y donde hay temas que tratan de desamor y de tristeza.
